REHOME A BRUMBY CAMPAIGN

  As the Australian Government resumes trapping in KNP in February 2021, it is imperative that rehomers be registered and ready for the next load. It is understood that this year trapping will be in bigger numbers as they are trapping in areas where trapping has not occurred for at least Five years. 

      The problem with this is that there are not enough rehomers and most are already at the maximum of how many brumbies they can take, so these brumbies need to be passed to single owners so rehomers can take a next load of brumbies. Rehomers must take a minimum of 5 at a time, many have taken up to 30 at a time,  but still we need more rehomers.  If these beautiful brumbies after being trapped are not taken by rehomers they will be taken to the knackeries to face their end by others.  As an advocate of brumbies this breaks my heart.  Not only are we forced to witness removal of these beautiful creatures from their home,  but we also may have to come to terms that many will go to slaughter regardless. That is why immediate action is of the essence.

   This is a call out for all rehomers,  all people that may be able to take a brumby or two, or like me be their voice, and spread the word, by helping the campaign.  These posters are to spread the word that we need help in finding rehomers, and anyone that is willing and able to take in a beautiful brumby. 

   One may say, I would like to be their voice but I believe they should remain in the wild and do not agree with rehoming.  While holding this thought, As I personally began to understand, that regardless of what my belief is the Government is not going to stop for me or anyone else, until the law changes. This may be tomorrow or never.  As changing laws are critically important for changes, the reality remains that the Government is imminent in trapping and wants these brumbies out, now. If not rehomed they face the knackeries. This is the reality.  So immediate actions are imperative to help the brumbies from a most certain death. That means that the rehomers are their only saviour at the moment.  Not only that I take my hat off to them as many drive miles,  go sleepless for days and go bankrupt to try and save as many as they can as of course once taken from the wild these horses need vet care, water, food and shelter. That means lots of money.  So rather than bash them on the head lets help them somehow. 

  For those thinking of taking a brumby or two you may be reluctant to, because they are wild brumbies. But rest assured that the rescuers,  rehomers and trainers do their outmost to match you to your forever brumby,  so you both will be safe an happy together. 

They are trying to create a community of people that like you will rehome a brumby, and then, can share knowledge and experience of these brumbies and relate how wonderful these beautiful brumbies are. You will find they are the most gentle and intelligent of creatures. They will love you like you could never imagine.  They will help you and guide you at every step.      

   With this said, please do join us then and be their voice, calling in the wind, as brumbies today are being taken out of their natural environment and treated without any regard of them being a sentient being with hierarchies, values of respect between each other,  and family values and bonds that some humans can only imagine. These creatures have been studied and observed by many with experience of these beautiful brumbies.  So please join us rehome a brumby or two or be their voice in the wind.

This poster campaign is to give voice to our Heritage Brumbies and to bring to light the truth behind what the government is doing to them. In addition and most importantly to force a stop to shooting and to cruel practises such as culling or trapping while mares are pregnant and with foals. It is also to find more rehomers to aid in rehoming trapped brumbies where possible. 

As the government has decided to restart trapping in Kosciusko at the end of January and shooting in Barmah in March, and as the government is determined to rid of brumbies throughout Australia relating them as feral rather than free, deeming them pests rather than a valid Australian animal that is part of  Australia's history, we as advocates need to give a voice to our heritage brumbies. We thus ask for all to unite. This poster campaign is to give a voice to our heritage brumbies and to expose  the injustice caused towards Heritage Brumbies and hopefully help stop the shooting and rehome as many as possible. We need people to actively care because without us uniting they die. GONE.  

These posters were pulled together by a team effort by dedicated advocates that ask you to purchase what you can and spread the voice. United we stand!!
